List of the day
Location: Mount Charleston, Nevada
Price: $3.95 million
This log cabin-style mountain retreat that offers easy access to great skiing as well as close proximity to the Vegas Strip will be auctioned on April 26.
“This auction will be a three-day online bidding process taking place April 26-28,” said Jennie Heal, president of Supreme Auctions, which is managing the sale. The five-bedroom house is being sold without reserve and can be visited until the auction.
The property is currently registered with Zar Zanganeh Agency.
“What I love is that it sits on national forest land,” Ms. Heal said. “The owner says she sees wild horses and deer coming down from the mountains. You really feel like you are part of nature there.
“Your backyard is an open landscape and you know there will never be development on the other side of your property,” she said. It’s about a 45-minute drive from the Strip, and Mount Charleston is “20 to 25 degrees cooler than Las Vegas.”
“This house is specifically for people who want to enjoy all four seasons,” Ms. Heal said.
The 2001 home is being sold furnished, she said. “A lot of furniture has been specially designed to fit the style of the house.”
Architectural and design details include a custom iron and glass front door, cathedral ceilings, slate floors, floor-to-ceiling windows with unobstructed views of the Alps, and a rich array of interior woodwork.
The owner bought the house in 2016 and upgraded all the flooring and added underfloor heating as well as a heated driveway and exterior walkways.
The main floor features a great room with a wet bar and large fireplace, a dining room, a wraparound deck, and a kitchen with Viking and Sub-Zero appliances and an island with a sink.
The master bedroom has a fireplace, double doors that open to a terrace, and an en-suite bathroom with a raised tub and large picture window, according to the listing. The second floor has an open entertainment area with a pool table and fireplace, and the finished lower level houses a home office and gym.
The 6,735 square foot home features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one partial bathroom. It is situated on a 0.36 acre lot.
Amenities include a four-car garage, three fire pits, two offices, gym, pool table, bar, heated driveway, heated floors, heated decks, wrap-around balconies, generator, and man-made stream .
The Seven Dwarfs Road home is in the luxury Echo View subdivision, according to the listing.
It’s a short drive to Lee Canyon Ski and Snowboard Resort, and there are plenty of hiking and biking trails nearby.
The property is adjacent to the more than 6 million acre Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest, which is the largest US national forest outside of Alaska, according to published reports.
