7 Essential Oil Recipes Approved by Aromatherapists

They say power is in numbers, so when looking for essential oil recipes online, don’t settle for just one aromatherapy scent with a neutral carrier oil. Inhale the benefits of a bouquet of fragrant oils with these invigorating essential oil recipes for diffusers.

Even the best home fragrance brands we know and love have used a combination of plant extracts and fruit oils to deliver scent and entice our noses. But isn’t it a shame that these collections are discontinued or simply out of your budget.

In addition to smelling great, essential oil recipes can be used holistically. Some of the best essential oil diffusers may come with a starter pack of oils to get you started, but you shouldn’t feel like you have to keep refilling with the same scent…especially if you can craft the yours for much less.

Essential oil recipes can also be used with wax to rival the best candles on the market. So, wick for wick, you’ll get more for your money.

We spoke to an aromatherapy expert who shared seven essential oil recipes she swears by. From healthy hair to reliving stresses, there’s a blend of organically-derived plant oils to suit everyone.

Recipe of essential oils for good sleep

“For a really good night’s sleep, just add a few drops of pure lavender essential oil to your pillow before you go to bed,” says Emilie de Block, aromatherapy expert and founder, Bio Scents.

“The relaxing experience of lavender scent led to its deliberate therapeutic use in aromatherapy to relieve mild anxiety when experts first started using the scent. Lavender has also been used internally for mood imbalances such as anxiety, insomnia, and gastrointestinal disturbances, including “nervous stomach.”

“It’s also a great oil to mix with other scents, we love mixing it with cedarwood for a good night’s sleep and to ground us after a long day at work.”
